SUBMISSION GUIDELINES


RIGHTFULLY OURS welcomes original and insightful contributions that explore contemporary issues within the realm of Women and Child Rights. We invite students, legal practitioners, and academics to share their perspectives through thought-provoking articles. We accept short articles, long articles and case commentaries throughout the year for the purpose of publication in our Blog.

Submission Categories:

  1. Short Form Posts: 1000-1500 words
  2. Long Form Posts: 2000-2500 words
  3. Case Commentaries: 1500-2000 words

Eligibility to Submit:

CWCR welcomes original and unpublished work from undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, practitioners, policy professionals and faculty members working in law and allied disciplines.

Content:

We encourage submissions that offer in-depth analyses and discussions on various issues that lie at the intersection of women and child rights. Interdisciplinary articles that focus on marginalized communities, race, caste, class, disability, sexual orientation, etc., are particularly encouraged. We prioritize articles that are relevant, discourse oriented and encompass broader themes and issues.

Originality and Plagiarism:

  1. All submitted content must be original and must not be sent to any other platform for publication.
  2. All the submissions will be subject to Plagiarism and AI check. Up to 15% of plagiarism is permitted.
  3. The Author is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of facts, opinions, and data in the submission. Submissions must not contain defamatory, offensive, abusive or derogatory content.

References and Citations:

  1. References should be provided as hyper-citations, with hyperlinks inserted in the text to direct readers to the relevant sources.
  2. Hyperlinks must link to respectable and accurate legal/media sources. Due credit must be given to the original author for derivation or interpretations of the existing literature.

Formatting:

  1. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (doc/docx)
  2. Font: Garamond
  3. Font Size: 12 for main text, 14 for headings, 12 bold for sub-heading
  4. Line Spacing: 1.5
  5. The text should be justified
  6. Margins should be one inch from all the sides

Submission Process:

  1. All submissions should be sent as Word documents to cwcr@gnlu.ac.in under the subject “CWCR Blog Submission.”
  2. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  3. Co-Authorship of up to 2 (Two) authors is allowed.

Review and Publication:

  1. Submissions will undergo a thorough review process by the editorial board.
  2. Authors will be notified of the receipt of their submission within 2-3 working days. If you are not notified of the same in 3 days, you are requested to send the email with the manuscript again.
  3. The review process may take time up to 10 to 14 working days.
  4. Decisions regarding acceptance or rejection will be communicated after the review process.
  5. The editorial board retains the right to reject articles at any stage.

Copyright and Republishing:

  1. If published on our blog, authors cannot republish the same or substantially similar content elsewhere without prior approval from our University
  2. Cross-posting requires prior permission and acknowledgment of initial publication on the GNLU Blog on Women and Child Rights.

Indemnification

By submitting a contribution to CWCR, the author(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and CWCR against any claims, suits, or consequences arising from allegations of copyright infringement, unauthorized use, or violation of rights resulting from the publication of their work in the Blog.

Additional Material

All submissions must be accompanied by:

  1. An author bio (3-4 lines), and social media handles.
  2. A short summary of the submission (1-2 lines), along with 3-4 keywords.
  3. Authors are encouraged to provide a relevant photograph regarding the article’s subject matter if they wish a photographic preview in the blog posts and social media updates (A (royalty-free, or royalties-secured) image, with credits)

If your submission does not include all of these elements, our Editors hold the right to reject your submission due to an incomplete submission. In case of any other disputes, the decision of the editorial board shall be final and binding. We look forward to receiving your insightful contributions!
