RTE Discourse
The Right to Education (RTE) Discourse explores the legal, social, and institutional landscape that upholds every child’s right to free and compulsory education in India. It examines not only how this right is articulated in law, but how it is experienced in classrooms, communities, and policy spaces across the country.
Education, at its core, is not a privilege reserved for a few, it is a fundamental human right. This right demands that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, must have equitable access to quality education. It places a clear responsibility on the State to safeguard, promote, and fulfil this right, while ensuring that meaningful remedies exist when obligations are not met.
Our RTE Discourse will bring together discussions on policies, implementation challenges, emerging reforms, recommendations, and the evolving role of both government and private institutions. Through clear analysis and informed perspectives, this space aims to deepen understanding of how the right to education is shaped, strengthened, and realised in practice, today and in the years to come.
